How To Write A Master's Thesis Quickly: An Easy Method That Works

Writing a Master’s thesis demands time and effort. However, sometimes you lack time for some reason, and it is useful to know how to write a thesis quickly and well. It’s important to organize your work correctly; in this way, writing a paper will take you a minimum amount of time. Below is a guide on how to spend as little time on your thesis as possible. So, let’s get it started.

  1. Make an outline.
  2. The first step is to make up a framework for the paper – to create an outline with all the necessary sections. Tip: you should know exactly what to include into your work. To do this, turn to your advisor or university for exact requirements.

  3. Select the literature.
  4. You cannot write everything by yourself and need lots of literature on your topic. Select the sources which may be useful for you. Read and mark out the information you need. Tip: start forming the bibliography at once – if the source is appropriate, include it in the list of the literature used.

  5. Write every day.
  6. As soon as the outline is ready, start writing the thesis itself. Take each section and write down general information and ideas. Work with the literature and develop the sections. It is very important to write at least a few pages every day. Don’t put off the work, because it might become unmanageable soon.

    Tips:
    • Don’t get distracted! Take away everything that distracts your attention and turn off your gadgets while working. There is a two-hour rule which will help you work more productively; the idea is that you define two hours during a day when you can focus on your work most effectively. Dedicate this time to writing the thesis.
    • Start from the middle. It is hard to write a good introduction if you haven’t written the work itself. That’s why you should work with the body chapters first, and then make an introduction, conclusion, etc.

  7. Get it checked.
  8. After you have written and edited the paper according to the requirements, send it to your advisor who will check it and give you directions concerning further work.

  9. Correct and hand in.
  10. Taking into account all the remarks and advice of your professor, edit the thesis and send it to the final reading and hand in. Tip: after you have written everything, take a break and read the text of the thesis once more – this will help you see mistakes and drawbacks, because you don’t notice them while writing.
